I tried finishing a pixel art piece instead of giving up after filling the canvas with a solid hue like the last 50 times I launched Aseprite.
Overall, I'm decently pleased with the outcome. Some parts are too detailed, while other parts are not detailed enough. I could probably have used a reference image or ten, seeing I winged most elements.
Honestly, I'm not even sure what I was going for. I started with the island, which was originally going to be a cloud. Then I wanted the island to be in the middle of the ocean before realizing I didn't know what to fill the rest of the ocean with. Halfway through drawing, I had this gigantic shark silhouette underneath the island, which I thought was pretty cool. It ended up not working out because I didn't know how to make the shark look underwater (also I didn't know what to fill the rest of the ocean with).
I did the ocean and the clouds last, which explains why it looks lazily done.
Verdict: 10/10 if you squint hard enough. [1]
I wrote the entire thing before taking a proper look at what I had created.
The tower is absurdly out of scale compared to the island! It's huge! Not sure why I didn't notice it before, but now I will critically revise my verdict:
Verdict: 9/10 if you squint hard enough.
